Trailer for Jane Eyre

This interests me for two reasons:

1) I'm currently reading the novel fror my English Classics course, and even though classics always give me some allergic reactions, wading it through isn't nearly as painful as I expected. (And not nearly as agonized as the project next in line, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce, will surely be.) Even though I'm not even half way through yet, I know the story is good and the characters interesting. And it'll be nice to see a good costume drama again.

2) It has Jamie Bell in it. With a beard! I guess Billy Elliot has really grown up. He plays John Rivers, and I don't know how big part he has in the story, because so far his been hardly mentioned, but I'm hoping for loads of screentime.

As for Mia Wasikowska, I'm still undetermined whether I like her or not. We'll see. And Judi Dench is always a big plus.

Now, let's see if I can get one or two chapters over and done with before 127 Hours tonight...

Trailer looks quite so-so, didn't wake up my interest. Though I like Mia Wasikowska, she was really stunning in In Treatment.

Btw what are you studying, English filology or something?

And 127 Hours! I want to see that so badly! :D

Yeah, well, I'm not really expecting wonders from the film, either. Should be alright, at least, a basic period piece based on an English classic novel, like Pride and Prejudice and Oliver Twist and all that...

And yep, that's exactly what I'm studying, though I think it's officially called just English Language in our university. It's my second year and I'm not exactly loving it, but it's a good place to be in while I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life... Keeps a lot of doors open, at least.

P.S. Just came back from cinema. Post coming right up! Hope you'll get to see it soon.

Hmm, supernatural Jane Eyre? Iiinteresting ^_^. But. I do enjoy Mia Wasikowska a lot and usually bully-like Michael Fassbender looked.. dashing.
Let's hope for a good period costume drama!

I haven't seen Michael Fassbender in anything else but The Inglorious Basterds. But he seems to fit well in the part! I had a little trouble imagining what Mr Rochester looks like, so at least now I have a face for him!

The Jane Eyre 2006 DVD is my favorite adaptation. Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens was spectacular in that version. It would be hard topping that but I'm looking forward to watching the 2011 film nonetheles
